Solid repair, slow turnaround

I had them do a vintage repair on an old pair of selvedge denim. The repair work on the holes was really well done; it preserved the look of the denim. They used their Union Special for the chain stitch hem too, which was a plus. The turnaround time was a bit longer than I expected, though, about 3 weeks from when they received my jeans. Communication was fine, but a heads-up about potential delays would have been nice. Still, the final product was high quality.

Decent value for repair

I sent in a pair of jeans for crotch repair. It was my first time using Mod Denim. I was looking for good value since I didn't want to buy new jeans. They had a first-time repair discount which helped. The repair itself was solid; it looks like it will hold up well. Shipping wasn't free, but the discount made the overall cost feel fair for the quality of work I received.

Good hem service

I used Mod Denim for a chain stitch hem. My jeans fit much better now. The process was easy, and the quality of the work was good. Took about 10 days total.

how much is shipping back after a repair? trying to figure out the total cost.

J Jason W. 4 weeks ago
It's usually a flat rate, but the exact amount depends on where you are. They'll tell you the cost before you finalize everything. Sometimes they have free shipping campaigns, especially for return shipping.

I think it's a standard shipping fee for repaired items, similar to what you'd pay for any small package. Not outrageously expensive.

can I send in a really old pair of selvedge jeans, like 50s era, for a crotch repair? some places won't touch 'em.

L Linda E. 2 weeks ago
They specialize in vintage stuff, so yeah, absolutely. I sent in a super beat-up pair from the 60s and they did an amazing job, looked almost new but still had that worn-in feel. They're known for that kind of work.

For sure, they even do 'oxidation aging' which is like making new denim look old, so repairing actual old denim is right up their alley.

about how long does it take to get a pair of jeans back if I send them in for a repair? I'm in New York.

K Karen L. 4 weeks ago
From what I remember, shipping time varies, but the actual repair itself doesn't take super long. I'd factor in a few weeks total including transit both ways. They're usually pretty good about getting things done once they have them.

Mine took about 10 days from when they received them until they shipped them back out. Shipping to NY will add a bit more time, obviously. Maybe 2-3 weeks total?

can you cancel a repair order once you've sent your jeans in? what if I change my mind?

I Ian 1 week ago
I think you can if they haven't started working on them yet. It's best to contact them immediately. They're pretty reasonable from my experience.

You might be able to, but you'd probably still be on the hook for shipping costs. I'd definitely reach out to their customer service right away if you need to cancel.

what payment options do they have? just credit cards or can I use something like paypal?

N Nancy Moore 1 month ago
I paid with a credit card online, but I'm pretty sure they list all the accepted methods during checkout. I don't recall seeing PayPal specifically, but most major cards are good.

Standard credit cards work fine. Not sure about PayPal, you'd have to check their site or when you're going through the order process.
